Good Morning,

Even though I have only been home a few days, it almost
seems like I was never gone. Amazing how quickly the routines
pick right up where you left. I really did enjoy being in
Chicago and spending time with my mom and sister and I REALLY
enjoyed the weather, the greenery, and the smell of fresh cut
grass. I'm not saying you can't smell the grass here when it's
cut, but given you are hermetically sealed in your house during
the summer cuts down the ability to sniff the grass smell that
is diluted by hot "fire wind"...

I got the chance to meet my sister's new kitten and all I can
say is...I have fallen in love! I like cats and have had them
in the past, but am now a full-fledged "dog person", HOWEVER,
this kitten is THE most adorable kitten I have ever seen and
has an attitude that is so different from any cat I've ever
met or had. My sister warned me ahead of time to not get
offended if he didn't go near me because "that's the way he
is" and he's also quite skittish. Not a problem I thought
since I have a bigger attitude than him, guaranteed, and if
he comes near me, fine, if not...who cares, or so I thought...

He was so dang cute that getting him to come around became a
quest within minutes of seeing him. He ran away when I approached
him and that only made me strategize, so I ignored HIM. My mom
and sis told me he barely eats and won't take anything from
them and eat it. Oh yeah? Guess they never tried a small morsel
of White Castle Hamburger and a sliver of a mozzarella cheese
stick! Both of them looked shocked and from that point on, he
was now my new best friend...

Little by little he became more and more comfortable with me
and popped on my lap anytime I sat on the floor or couch and
when I sat at the kitchen table, he sat on the back of the chair,
purring away like a motor boat. I have to admit, my mom was a
tad jealous because she adores him and he is such a brat!

So, while I'm definitely a "dog person" and still want a few
more Danes, there's a little kitten in Chicago that not only
do I love, but would kidnap him if I could...
