Your Skincare Tips - The biggest acne myth

The Acne Programme

The biggest acne myth

The biggest acne myth is that sun exposure helps get rid of pimples.

Picture it... you are on holiday in the sun and surf. Your pimples start to clear up. Your skin is looking great. Then you come home and you immediately get a break out. What’s happened?

Most people think that the clearing up of pimples is the sun and sea working its magic. And that the subsequent breakout is your skin crying out because you’ve removed the sunshine.

Simply not true.

Your skin dries out when exposed to the sun. The oil in your skin then dries up too. This means the bacteria in your skin have less to feed off and thus your pimples appear to stop. But it is a fallacy. The bacteria are still there, just waiting for the moment you re-hydrate. Then bingo! There is more food and they are free to multiply again.

The only way to get rid of pimples properly is to kill the bacteria. Limiting their food supply is a short-term solution and will ultimately damage your skin.

Use sunscreen to protect your skin and avoid that awful break out the moment you return home from holiday. To get rid of your acne, go on a proper acne treatment program (see www.theacneprogramme.com).

I wish you all the best with your skin health! For further tips and tricks, make sure to go to www.theacneprogramme.com.
