TechEd 2007 highlights and controversies; new ABAP FAQ

Last week's TechEd in Las Vegas was as crazy as you'd expect with
over 6,000 attendees, over 1,000 sessions and an awesome developer
Demo Jam to keep things exciting. If you haven't already, browse the

Among the highlights is SAP's individual NetWeaver licenses, Web
services for GRC integration, and a careful look into the ROI of SAP
security projects. We also reported on the new Composition
Environment in NetWeaver 7.1, and of course, as a follow-up we asked
SAP what NetWeaver 7.2 will be like.

Another interesting development to come out of TechEd is the new
certification program, where SAP now offers three tiers to
differentiate between beginners and true SAP experts. This sparked
fierce debate, where some users welcomed the formal recognition of
practial experience, while others viewed it as a crass cash grab on

experience in SAP or SCM, what advice do you have for me?
A: Part of the problem is that APO is a relatively old term that has
been in part supplanted by SCM. You may be witnessing a nomenclature

The next evolutionary step in SAP development is direct
model-to-code. This allows business process people to create
processes like they'd do on a whiteboard -- except the SAP back-end
