Do not make the mistake of disclosing your current job salary to your prospective employer when you apply for the job or anytime during the interview process.

 

This is REALLY IMPORTANT!  If your current salary is significantly lower (or higher) than the market range for the position you are interviewing for, you want to make sure to  avoid disclosing your current salary figure.  It is common for interviewers to try and “salary screen” you, a tactic that gives them a sense of whether you are over- or under-qualified for the position based on your current salary/salary expectations. Don’t let this happen to you!
