YOUNG BLACK CEO EMPOWERS AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY

Dante Lee, CEO of Diversity City Media

Columbus, OH - For 8 years now, CEO and author Dante Lee has been educating, uplifting, and empowering the African American community. He's been doing this in more ways than one.

His company, Diversity City Media, produces BlackNews.com - an award-winning online newspaper that covers national issues that pertain to Blacks. The site has been a trusted resource to journalists and civilians for quite some time, and attracts nearly 500,000 readers every month.

Lee's company also produces BlackPR.com - a press release distribution service that supplies daily content to all the nation's Black newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations. This service has played a major role in making sure that the Black press is reporting positive news, and has helped countless black-owned companies get much needed publicity.

His site BlackStudents.com is a resource for African American students looking for scholarships, internships, and entry-level jobs. To date, the site has promoted over 1,000 opportunities to over 200,000 students.

BlackExperts.com and BlackSpeakers.com are the latest online ventures, which allow little-known entrepreneurs and authors to make themselves available for media interviews and speaking engagements. These sites filled a major void, whereas previously no such central directory existed to find African American experts and speakers.

"Yes, we are a for-profit company," Lee says. "But that doesn't mean we can't elevate the Black community during the process. We try to make sure that everything we do benefits African Americans in some way or another."

Lee's long-time business partner is William Moss, founder and CEO of HBCU.com - the largest online destination for HBCU students and alumni.

Together, the two have recently acquired BlackHistory.com - which they plan to launch as an online encyclopedia and social networking platform.

"Our goal is to keep creating ways to enhance the Black experience," Lee says.
