The ministers avow that you find purpose in God's words, doing his will, and through prayer. When asked what is meant by living a counterfeit life, Charlene explains, "You have Christians who are living without a purpose; they are going to church and getting emotional, but they are not willing to move outside of their comfort zone, outside of the church. I know because being a new Christian, I've been there, done that. People are not asking God, 'Why did you create me, why am I here?' God said that before He formed you in your mother's womb, He had a destiny for you." The idea for Window-Shoppers was divinely inspired and was birthed out of personal experiences that the ministers encountered while they, themselves were living a counterfeit life. Through their ministry, the couple has influenced the lives of many, especially the inner-city residents. Donald and Charlene's ministry acknowledges the negativity that is going on in the world. It calls for the community and its inhabitants to move from being unproductive to being productive and leading industrious lives. As both of them feel they were once living a counterfeit life, they are not speaking on something they've only heard about, but rather what they have experienced firsthand. Today, the husband and wife ministry team realize their purpose. They know that they were created and anointed by God to assist Him with this end time harvest by "Waking a Sleeping Church." They have also been called to help the body of Christ rise up, move outside of its four walls, and become a vehicle down here on earth which God can use to touch other hurting lives. The foundation of their ministry is based on this: helping people identify their true meaning so that they may step into God's purpose for their lives -- the true reason He created them.
