Jangl gives your calls a private ring

Jangl, one of a new class of Web-telephone calling companies, is introducing a
way to call over the Internet that bypasses traditional phone networks and and
uses e-mail to provide privacy from unknown callers. The service, available on
Wednesday, allows users to place calls via the Internet.

Promising technique will take bite out of spam

A key Internet standards body gave preliminary approval on Tuesday to a powerful
technology designed to detect and block fake e-email messages. It's called

Sony may sell 80-gig PS3 in U.S.

Sony's PlayStation 3 video game console will come with a beefed up 80-gigabyte
hard-disk drive in South Korea, and that model is being considered for the U.S.
and other markets, a company official said Wednesday. The PlayStation 3 now
comes with a 60-gigabyte hard drive.

Google invests $3.9M in start-up of co-founder's wife

Fresh off her marriage to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, biotechnology
entrepreneur Anne Wojcicki is now wedded to the company too. Google revealed on
Tuesday that it invested $3.9 million to obtain a minority stake in Wojcicki's
biotech start-up, 23andMe.

Intel, STMicro partner on flash memory
---------------------------------------------
Intel Corp. and STMicroelectronics NV are unloading troubled divisions that make
a type of flash memory used primarily in cellphones. The chipmakers and private
equity firm Francisco Partners will form a new company that will buy up the
assets of Intel's and STMicro's NOR flash businesses.
