| | | | | Today's top stories... Staples expands recycling program Staples will now accept used computers and monitors at its U.S. stores. But there will be a $10 recycling fee for each large item. The chain has been taking smaller gadgets like cameras for years. Staples will still offer free recycling for these small items. Avis to offer Wi-Fi Avis is offering Wi-Fi in its cars and in hotel rooms. The service uses a cellular network to provide the connection. Avis will charge $10.95 daily for Avis Connect. It debuts today at San Francisco International Airport. Avis will roll out the service in other large cities later this year. Google deal signals change for Firefox Thanks largely to a deal with Google, Mozilla is generating substantial revenue. In the past two years, Mozilla earned revenue of $100 million. As a result, the Mozilla Foundation started a for-profit subsidiary. And this may mean less transparency for the organization. Symantec update shuts down Chinese PCs Last week, Symantec issued a faulty virus signature. It mistook files in the Simplified Chinese edition of Windows XP for a Trojan. The two files were critical system files. Symantec re-released the update. But many Chinese users are facing serious computer problems.
