Cars are getting bossy when it comes to high-tech safety
---------------------------------------------
After decades of focus on "passive safety", the new push is for "active
safety," which is supposed to keep you from crashing in the first place.

Gas price record? Feds move target higher
---------------------------------------------
The price of gasoline was almost certain to set an inflation-adjusted record

High-scoring duo effectively making points for Duke
---------------------------------------------
Perhaps the best sign for the Duke men's lacrosse program is that most
discussion about it is now focused on the field. "It was slow in coming, but
it's finally here," says coach John Danowski, who took over the embattled
program this year. "We still get the other questions. It was such a major
story, we still have to be patient in answering those, but it sure is
wonderful to be talking about lacrosse."

months into the experiment, Red Bull has delivered on its promises to bring
big-time thinking to a team that was often stuck in a rut.

For Patrick, the question has become: Can she win?
---------------------------------------------
Heading into Sunday's Indianapolis 500, it seems there is only one place
driver Danica Patrick hasn't made an appearance: a victory lane somewhere in
the IRL IndyCar Series. "It's this thing that's always lurking," says Patrick,
who acknowledges feeling more pressure than ever about getting her first
victory, partly because "there's less excuses."
