Tour de France winner Floyd Landis fired his business
manager over a phone call made to Greg LeMond about
LeMond being sexually abused as a child.
LeMond, who won the Tour de France three times, testified
Thursday at the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency hearing into
Landis' positive test during last year's race.
LeMond, who was sexually abused as a child by a family
friend, said he revealed his secret in the hope that if
Landis, too, had a secret to share that Landis would
reveal it, NBC reported.
Landis' business manger, Will Geoghegan, was fired
immediately after LeMond testified that he had received a
harassing phone call from Geoghegan threatening to
reveal that Lemond had been abused, NBC reported.
"I have to say that what his manager said to me
(Wednesday) was one of the most vicious and mean-spirited
things ever done to me," LeMond said in a telephone
interview with NBC Thursday night.
LeMond said he told Landis about the abuse last summer
after Landis won the Tour de France. It is not known
whether Landis knew about Geoghegan's alleged phone
call. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is
investigating the incident.
What are your thought on Landis Anti-Doping Agency
hearing?

Transsexual heads up prostitution rally
A Brazilian transsexual named Kristal offered leadership
skills this week to protesting prostitutes in the northern
Italy city of Padua. Acting as the demonstration's
spokesperson, Kristal said the march was aimed at bringing
attention to a new Padua ordinance punishing those who use
the prostitutes' services, the Italian news agency ANSA
said Thursday. "We're being used as a lightening rod to
distract people from the real problems like transportation,
theft and people getting killed on the work site," Kristal
said. To not offend local citizens during Wednesday's
march, the prostitutes even toned down their typical work
wardrobe. One noted absentee from the demonstration was
Padua Mayor Flavio Zanonato, who chose to address the
topic on a TV show in Rome. ANSA said Zanonato had made
it clear to the protestors he would only discuss the
controversial topic with them if their talks focused on
limiting prostitution.

Parrot lost foot in unusual R.I. theft
A baby parrot lost one of its feet this week in Warwick,
R.I., when a woman allegedly cut it off to steal the bird
from an area pet store. The Providence (R.I.) Journal
said Thursday that local police charged Pamela Worden
after allegedly finding the bleeding one-legged parrot
in the 56-year-old woman's apartment. Sgt. Robert C. Rocco
said the gruesome discovery was shocking given Worden's
calming demeanor. "She had (apparently) cut off the
parrot's leg to get the i.d. bracelet off of it," Rocco
said of Worden. "It was like a horror movie. She seemed
like such an unassuming woman. "I've been doing this for
24 years, and this was probably the most bizarre thing
I've ever run into." The unusual case led to charges of
cruelty to animals and possession of stolen goods being
made against Worden, the Journal said.

Teens allegedly created insulting Web page
Authorities in Pennsylvania have charged three teenagers
with harassment and identity theft for allegedly creating
a very insulting Web page. The Harrisburg (Pa.)
Patriot-News said Thursday that the Perry County teenage
trio was charged recently with creating a Web page that
portrayed a local businessman as both a racist and an
illiterate alcoholic. Perry County police Chief Alan D.
Houck said the MySpace.com site definitely painted the
unidentified businessman in a negative light. "The page
had a Confederate flag in the background and was just
covered with racial slurs," he said. "It was rather
offensive." He added that the three teenagers, who attend
a private school with the businessman's son, did do an
impressive job making the site seem authentic. "Anybody
viewing the site would think it was his," Houck told the
Patriot-News. "Who knows how many customers may have seen
it and what business he lost."

What are your thoughts on XM Satellite Radio suspending
shock jocks Opie and Anthony?
"They are shock jocks that is what they do, say things
to get attention."
"This world is becoming to PC. If you don't like what
someone says, turn the channel, station or whatever."
"i'm from boston where these guys were fired for the
same foolish crap. they continue to push the envelope in
the name of free speech. they simply will not accept that
their antics have far reaching effects on people. they
take no responsibility for the message that they send
to their listeners. i for one dont miss them at all.
sometimes i wish i could say whatever i feel too but i
was brought up better than that. what if everyone just
said what they thought, the consequences would be
devastating. but thats what thinking your intelligent
