Author Ken Follett follows through to 'End'

Ken Follett doesn't fit the stereotype of a shy, tweedy British author. He has an air of success and self-satisfaction, the confidence a character from one of his spy thrillers might possess. When he talks of his work, he makes no apology for being a writer of popular fiction out to please readers rather than an angst-driven artist feeding some inner demon. And why not? he says with a laugh — it has made him rich.

- Follett's long-awaited World Without End hits shelves

Follett: Pillars sequel World Without End is out Tuesday.
