STORY OF HEROIC SLAVE NOW AVAILABLE AT TARGET

Bookcover

Shelby, NC (BlackNews.com) - THE BALLAD OF DRED SCOTT, the story of the heroic slave whose personal fight for freedom helped Lincoln become president (Lincoln didn't do it alone), is now available at Target stores across the country.

Author Randy Hoyle argues in THE BALLAD OF DRED SCOTT that Dred Scott was much more than a victim, but also a heroic being. A heroic being whose legal fight for freedom, spanning 10 years, caused a chained reaction that allowed Abraham Lincoln to become president and thus bring an end to slavery in the rebelling slave states during the Civil War.

The book also argues that Lincoln may not have become president without the Dred Scott decision.

If the book is not yet available at locat Target stores, THE BALLAD is already available and can be ordered on Target's website at www.target.com

One of THE BALLAD's themes is "Sometimes, even when we lose, we may still win if we don't give up our dreams."

Hoyle is currently looking for a new publisher to produce a special edition of THE BALLAD OF DRED SCOTT. He is also interested in the production of an illustrated version for young people. He also has other books ready to publish.

Randy is currently volunteering for free phone conferences and readings with small book clubs and like organizations. He has requested that readers contact their local libraries about acquiring copies of his book, so the book will be available to the general public.

"I believe the message in this book is more important than I am. I'm just the messenger," said Hoyle.
