A common theme in this industry is getting people from IT and
business departments to work together on data management projects.
But I'm still hearing that at many organizations IT/business
collaboration is just not happening, thanks to cultural barriers and
a long legacy of separation. At the same time, others share stories
of smoothly-run, communication-filled, cross-departmental projects
and say there's no problem at their organizations. So,
SearchDataManagement.com is working to better quantify some of the
issues around IT and business alignment, especially when it comes to
evaluating and deploying business intelligence (BI) software.

We've developed a short, 20-question survey that we hope will uncover
some of the key issues around IT/business alignment in the BI
evaluation process. You'll learn about the results of this survey in
a future article, along with analysis and advice from leading
industry experts.
