Lawrence Lee Wallace (bio)
Born in 1971 to Eugene & Lillian Wallace in Chicago Illinois, Lawrence grew to love reading and writing. At the age of ten he wrote his first poem for an elementary school class and from there started to nourish his gift. He would graduate from high school with honors in English literature and would continue to write poetry, short stories and eventually plays. He would fall in love with the theater and begin to act, first in high school and afterwards making a try at music producing and taking more acting lessons. A modeling and acting career would come into the picture but in 1998 after being inspired by Robert Townsend's Hollywood Shuffle and Keenan Ivory Wayans In Living Color Lawrence would write and direct Urban Scenze, the over the top, outrageous and absurd sketch comedy stage show.

After running at different nightclubs and theaters in Chicago for the past 7 years and gaining a huge underground following the next logical step would be to try to take Urban Scenze to film. So Lawrence would take the little money he had and put it into taking film workshops and after some time he directed his first short film, a documentary about Chicago's black struggling artist community called Blacklight Project. After successful screenings of that, he would put all of his effort and resources into the film version of Urban Scenze and the production company Deep productions
